Dear SLP WG,

In response to our Spring 2023 action item: “see what it looks like when we split the current Prox-1 SDLP into: COP-P, Session Control, and traditional link layer books
Please see the 3 files attached. I will place these into our CWE folder shortly.
We need to thank Tom Gannet for his attempt at splitting the Prox-1 atom into its sub-atomic particles.
Note that tome moved Persistence to the Session Control book. The MIB is kept in one piece in the Session control book.
Tom has the following suggestion that I totally agree with, if indeed, we split the Prox-1 book up: “COP-P needs to be merged with COP-1 (single book caller Communications Operations Procedures).”

Please review these 3 books and let me and the WG know your questions and comments.

Greg:

Since most of this activity consisted of reconciling broken cross reverences, etc., don’t expect anything radical. In fact, not much of anything is changed other than relocating sections to new books. The one thing I did that I thought ought to be done was to move Persistence to the Session Control book. I considered breaking up the MIB annex across the three books, but in the end I left it in its entirety in the Session Control book and referenced the annex in that book in the other two volumes.

If you plan to discuss these prior to Thursday, I should be able to sit in.

Hi Tom,

Were you and Miles able to split the Prox-1 (211.0) book into those 3 parts as we discussed ?


     *   COP-P stand alone
     *   Prox-1 Protocol (similar to TC, TM, AOS BBs)
     *   Session Control

Will you be able to give us a copy a week before the Nov 6-7 SLP WG meeting at the Hague ?
Hopefully you can come join us for the discussion as well there.
