Hi. Adrian wants to get the Area reports largely done BEFORE the
meeting, so could you all please update your area reports from Atlanta
and submit them prior to departing for Rome? I'll try to synthesize
something that we can then finalize in our plenary session.
Many thanks,
Durst

Subject: [CESG] 16-17 June CESG meeting/Draft 1 agenda
I'd like the upcoming CESG meeting to have time to cover some strategic
issues, rather than just assembling the Area reports. Here's what I'd
propose.
1. The CMC meeting is on Tuesday, 27 June. Backing-up so that we can
get
the CESG report to the Russian translators, that means that the
integrated
report needs to be compiled and finalized no later than Thursday, 22
June.
2. Consequently, you should *arrive* in Rome with your draft Area
reports
in almost-final template format so that you can very rapidly complete
them
at the end of the technical week. In fact, you should have them pretty
well
done by Friday noon.
3. Just as we did in Atlanta, I'd therefore like to add an informal
CESG
"debrief" session (ADs and DADs) on Friday evening 16 June, say from
17:00-18:30. Here's where you can quickly run through the major results
of
the week, hopefully in draft Area report (presentation) format.
4. On Saturday 17 June we can begin the main CESG meeting by quickly
running through any residual issues that remain from the Friday evening
reporting session. That should take no more than 20-minutes per Area,
and
hopefully less. From that point onwards its up to you folks to finalize
your reports and send them to me. I shall be staying in Rome for
SpaceOps,
so I will need your reports no later than COB on Wednesday 21 June so
that
I can get the package finished.
5. Once we get through the Saturday quick-report session we can switch
to
other discussion topics. PLEASE SUGGEST AGENDA ITEMS. Three that occur
to
me (based on recent polling confusions) are:
a. The purpose and 'boilerplate' of a Recommended Practice.
b. The role and significance of the "Experimental" category.
c. Future SM&C directions, and their implications
Please suggest other topics. Those will then be added to an update of
the
attached Draft 1 agenda.
Best regards
Adrian
