[Moims-dai] Note of ISO OAIS RID resolution from 6 Feb 2024

At the last meeting on 6th Feb we agreed:

*	374 - agreed with suggestion
*	365 - agreed with suggestion - need to update diagram
*	362 - agreed with suggestion - need to update diagram
*	368 - need clean up of wording. DG suggests the following

*	From:
*	The degree to which Content Information and its associated PDI
conveys information to a Designated Community is, in general, quite
subjective. Nevertheless, it is essential that an Archive make this
determination in order to maximize information preservation. 

 

*	To:

Nevertheless, it is essential that an Archive make this determination in
order to maximize information preservation. Therefore, as described in
detail in section 2.4, Preservation Objectives allow a more objective
determination to be made.

*	369 - need cleaned up wording. DG suggests

*	From: "A deletion policy should gather information about the
deletion (i.e., what, why, who)."

 

*	To: "A deletion policy should gather information about the deletion
(i.e., what, why, who). The policy may, for example, specify that an audit
trail of actions on an AIP must be kept."

 

*	This keeps in line with "policy"

 

*	355 - the WG asked DG to look back at why the sentence was deleted

*	I've looked back at the various draft versions of OAIS.
*	It looks like the removal of that phrase was not the result of a
particular RID, but rather a tidy-up because the point is made in the body
of the document.

 

*	Therefore I see no harm in agreeing with the suggested change.

 

*	370 - agree to NO CHANGE - needs agreement with submitter
*	384 - no option but to agree
*	366 - agreed with suggestion
*	381 - must check with submitter:

*	Agree but change "optimal" to "possible"

 

*	Also
*	"high degrees of inter-operability" to "greater interoperability"

*	359 - must ask for clarification
*	358 - DG suggests:

*	How about:
*	From:
*	"To summarize, 1.6.2, 2.3, 3.2 and 4.3 are normative and form the
basis of conformance to this Recommended Practice."

 

*	To:
*	"To summarize, to be conformant with OAIS an Archive must support
the basic terminology specified in section 1.6.2, and must be able to map
its practices to the OAIS Information Model which is defined at very high
level in section 2.3 and in more detail in section 4.3, and must also
fulfill the Mandatory Responsibilities specified in section 3.2."

*	373 - rejected - needs agreement from submitter
*	378 - agreed
*	360 - agreed
*	371 - needs a re-write
*	375 - rejected - needs agreement from submitter
*	376 - rejected - needs agreement from submitter
*	377 - agreed
*	379 - agreed to make a change - no text was suggested  so we propose
changing "shipping" to "fulfilling the request" - needs agreement from
submitter
*	358 - we agreed that we need to suggest some extra text
*	322 - agreed
*	325 - agreed

 

Please let me know if you disagree with any of these.
