CSTSWG colleagues and David ---
TD-CSTS W-0.4 is available on the CWE at
http://cwe.ccsds.org/css/docs/CSS-CSTS/CWE%20Private/Future%20Services%2
0using%20Toolkit/Tracking%20Data%20CSTS/TD-CSTS_W-0.4.doc
or http://tinyurl.com/TD-CSTS-W-0-4
The uploaded version has the markup included, but for most readers I
suggest just viewing/printing it in Final view: there are a LOT of red
lines.
This update includes many changes resulting from discussions in
Noordwijk and after. Some of the major changes are:
- The main change is that tracking data records are no longer
bundled for some time interval. Rather, every tracking data measurement
is reported (along with its associated metadata) in an atomic segment.
Each atomic segment is the payload of a TRANSFER-DATA invocation. This
eliminates the problem with mixing different types of tracking data in
the same segment. It also allows each TD-CSTS to select the tracking
data to be delivered by that instance (instead of all TD-CSTS instances
being required to deliver all tracking data generated, as was the case
in the previous version). The selection of the tracking data to be
delivered by each TD-CSTS instance is managed information (Yves had
suggested that it be selectable as part of the START operation, but in
discussing this with Tim we agreed that the tracking data needed by any
given user is going to be static for that user, and making the selection
via management will simplify the specification and implementation of the
TD-CSTS).
- VLBI and Delta-DOR have been removed per David Berry's
suggestion.
- The functional groups in section 2 have been replaced with
functional resources.
- As discussed in Noordwijk, further extension of the START
positive return is now prohibited. This greatly simplifies the syntax of
the START extension, and we agreed that further extensibility is
unnecessary for the tracking data service.
- The book has been brought into compliance with the latest
version of the Guidelines, which I posted to the CWE last month.
- The Operational Scenario in section 2 has been extended to
include a second complete TD-CSTS instance that is used during the
execution of the Space Link Session Service Package. This is in addition
to the complete TD-CSTS instance that is used in the scenario in a truly
offline (after the end of the SLS) fashion. This second complete TD-CSTS
instance is intended to illustrate how the complete mode may be used
during the pass, and to contrast its behavior with that of a real-time
TD-CSTS instance that is active at the same time.
Best regards,
John
