Dear CMC Colleagues,
Concerning question 1: At least from our perspective from Brazil, it will be a high risk procedure to be logistically assured as viable, in time, in this case, for a two-way travel to/from France. The logistic uncertainties,
not only in Brazil but in France, as well, seem to be not stable and are complex to be faced, in both sides. Not to mention the quarentee requirement ... So far, there is, clearly a high risk to get into unsolvable logistic
related impediments in the sequence of requirements to be observed for such a travel. Commercial air traffic to/from Brazil is still reduced to a very critical minimum.
Concerning question 2: It is possible that allowance for attendance may be viable, to the extent that financial resources may not be required for the purpose, due to the critical budgetary situation the organization
Is going through ... However, personal risk is not worth to be taken even if travel may eventually become logistically viable, as commented in question 1.
Incidentally, INPE is still under "home-office" regime and with undefined date for return of its personnel to regular office attendance.
With my best regards,
EDUARDO W. BERGAMINI

Assunto: [CMC] 2 Questions about the fall 2020 CCSDS Meetings and General Information
Dear CMC Members,
In preparation for a discussion of holding the fall 2020 CCSDS Meetings in person, I would like to ask each CMC member to consider two questions.
1. Do you believe the fall 2020 CCSDS Meetings should take place in person?
2. If the fall 2020 CCSDS Meetings were to be held in person, will your agency allow participants to attend?
In considering these questions, please keep in mind that, should they be permitted to attend by their agency, many individuals may decide that the risk is too high for them personally. If you are prepared to answer these questions, please reply and share your opinions with the CMC.
An update on the current COVID Situation in France from Jean-Marc Soula is also attached to this message.
Best regards,
Michael Blackwood
