Dear CCSDS Colleagues:
I feel compelled to express to you my sadness for the loss of Arvind. Peter is
right, we will miss him.
Impressed by the intensity of travels that Arvind was so used to make, I used
to joke with him that he had his home on the road. I really appreciated him
very much. A very clever and open person, as I had the privilige to know him,
for so many years, in the realm of CCSDS. The Arvind I knew made no
distinction from persons, wherever they could have come from, while also
demonstrating a sharp sense of fairness and dignity, in his treatment, among
other significant aspects, also derived from his solid, professional
competence and experience. We also had, certainly, many happy moments together
in our many past CCSDS meetings, thanks to his refined and sharp sense of
humor.
I would like to propose that CMC may express and register a special mention to
him in the coming meeting.
Sincerely,
Eduardo W. Bergamini
INPE/CCSDS

Sad news indeed. Although Arvind had not been able to attend many meetings in
the last few years, his contributions were always lively. I have fond memories
of an evening meal with Arvind and Peter Vaughan at a restaurant near
Frascati. Arvind ingored the menu and made a superb choice of food and wine by
negotiating with the waiter.
We will miss him
Peter Allan
