CESG Colleagues,

Per the CESG meeting on 13 November 2015, attached please find the functional resource and service component model. The model represents an abstraction of the functions of an ESLT (Earth Space Link Terminal) that in turn allows for CSS Area recommendations to indicate various monitor data parameters and settable (controlling/managed) parameters in a manner independent from agency implementations. It also forms the basis for understanding functional affinities and extensibility that the CSS Area has to keep in mind in development of its recommendations -- for example, if, in addition to RF, optical communications become a standardized reality.

The CSS Area respectfully requests the CESG to take a look and provide any comments you may have. If there are significant comments, those would be appreciated by 15 January 2016. In particular, the CSS AD and DAD will appreciate review from the SLS area.

Best regards,

Erik Barkley, Margherita DiGiulio
