[Cesg-all] Review of DRAFT CCSDS Glossary / some initial emotional comments

Nestor,

The glossary is not an SEA task, it is a CCSDS wide one. And, I should point out, the origins of this Glossary were probably Panel 2. The source of the problem now is that WGs do not look to see what is defined prior to defining new terms and we have no process for managing the Glossary either.

We need to discuss how best to do this for CCSDS, using CCSDS resources. SEA can no more take on this job with no resources provided by the agencies than any other Area or WG can. The SSG believes that this is a job that should be done by the Areas and WGs, with help from the SANA operator and SEA. We are certainly prepared to assist, but cannot do the job by ourselves.

Ciao, Peter

Peter

If our ESA staff can do this in their spare time is OK.

We will not ask to any ESA contractor (your SMEs I believe) because we need to pay their effort

and ESA wants to spend the resources in higher priority tasks.

At the end of the day, glossaries are typical tasks of System Engineering. Therefore is a primarily SEA task. We can help but the burden of the tasks shall be done by your Area,

ciao
