[Smwg] Terrestrial Generic File Transfer - Initial White Book draft

Dear list,

I couldn't find any previous mention of TGFT, so please excuse me if my
comments are way off.

I must admit I was puzzled by the choice of WebDAV in this context and
was wondering which reasoning was behind it? I see FTP mentioned as
insecure, however that can also be secured with TLS on equal grounds.

At KSAT we are seeing a growing demand for RESTful services to do this
kind of interaction (a part from todays norm of FTP over TLS or SSH).
While the approach actually is not much different, it also appears to me
as more flexible and fitting.

You can pass binary data or XML over such an interface as well, however
the real benefit is that some of the CCSDS file formats are equally
suited as JSON as XML and could ease development further. Coupled with a
JSON Schema (just like XML schemas) you have frameworks for a myriad of
programming languages that can handle the interaction.

Using this approach you can address section 3.3 Security by allowing JWT
to be used to sign/encrypt some or all of the content.

Again, if I am missing something please feel free to point me in the
right direction.
