Subject: CCSDS RFM WG Spring meeting - proposed way forward -
agreement
Dear All,
this is to inform you that I have not received any negative comments to my
proposal that is therefore agreed by RFM and DDOR WGs. Thank you all for
your agreement.
As you can see in the attachment, there is an additional input paper
(SLS-RFM_20-06) that the author agreed to present at the Fall meeting.
Please make sure that the 3 DDOR papers (SLS-RFM_20-03, -04 and -05) are
delivered to me and Jim by April 17. I will distribute them to the RFM WGs
and ask for comments in writing by May 5.
Jim and myself will consult and suggest recommended way(s) forward after
evaluating the comments impact.
Massimo will take care of the VCM paper for the joint C&S/RFM WG meeting;
I understand that email discussion is proposed for it and that the April
17 deadline for its submission is valid.
Best Regards, Enrico

Subject: CCSDS RFM WG Spring meeting - proposed way forward
Dear All,
by the RFM WG deadline 1)
1) Friday 3 April deadline to indicate the intended
inputs (titles)
2) Friday 17 April deadline to provide the actual inputs
I received five input titles for the RFM WG meeting and two for the joint
RFM/C&S WG meeting. ESA's colleagues who proposed 3 of these 7 titles do
not see any urgency with them. I therefore propose that delivery of
documents SLS-RFM_20-01 and 02 as well of the C&S "AI_19-13 – Proposal for
simulation channel model" document be delayed to the Fall meeting, where
discussion will take place.
For what concerns the joint RFM/DDOR WG meeting, I understand from DDOR
chairman (Jim) that the group would prefer to progress the wide-band DDOR
recommendation that has been discussed for quite some time.
As such, I would proposed that documents SLS-RFM_20-03, 04 and 05 be
delivered as per deadline 2).
Given that the face-to-face meetings have been cancelled, I would call for
comments to these 3 documents be sent in writing to both RFM and DDOR WGs
by May 5.
I would then analyse the received comments together with Jim and with the
authors of the comments, and try to suggest possible solutions by email
correspondence. Deadline for this milestone will depend on the number and
severity of the received comments. In case of a few open issues remaining
to be solved, a short and focused Webex may be called to address these
items.
For what concerns the second C&S document proposed for the joint RFM/C&S
meeting and dealing with VCM (action item response), it would seem from
C&S chairman (Massimo) that it should be possible to come to a conclusion
of the VCM project by email correspondence. In any case, I am leaving this
decision to C&S WG since the action item is from C&S and apparently should
not have any influence on the VCM areas of interest to RFM.
Please let me know if you are fine with my proposed way forward and if the
proposed May 5 deadline appears feasible for reviewing the 3 inputs on the
WB-DDOR recommendation.
I trust that you are all safe and healthy,
Enrico
