Originally, I had planned to attend the CCSDS autumn meeting, due to other obligations in context of the new position, to which I was promoted end of last year, I will not be able to be present in Berlin next week.
Furthermore it is now time to completely move on to the new tasks, therefore I am glad to announce that a very knowledgeable successor for my former position has been found.
I would have liked to use the opportunity of the face to face meeting to introduce you to him and to say farewell in person.
Dr. Gerd Kochem will in the future represent the DLR Space Administration position at CCSDS OPT SLS.
Dr. Kochem is attending the ICSO conference this week and for some of you this might already have been a good opportunity to get in contact.
In the next months we plan to jointly attend the telephone conferences. Therefore, a smooth transition will be guaranteed.

Since the space community is a small world, I am hopeful that I will occasionally meet some of you in a different context.
