Hi Greg,
My understanding was that while we included the Lunar Pathfinder Directives as Type 4, to make sure to not leave them out of our standard, Type 5 is what we really want people to use. In this sense, we did not mention Type 4 as a way to "promote" adoption of Type 5.
If you thin it is better to mention Type 4 for completeness, we can do the modification during the Agency Review, and as you suggested we should put a note to clarify that Type 4 were for the Lunar First Adopter and that for the future missions we encourage people to go for type 5.
Regards,
Nicola

Subject: Prox-1 C&S (211.1-B) mention of Type 4 directives ?
Hi Andrea and Nicola,
I noticed there is no mention of the Type 4 directives in 211.1-B (Prox-1 C&S book), only Type 1 or Type 5.
My concern is CCSDS has defined Type 4 to be used as the "first generation Lunar" applications. What if someone in the future besides Lunar Pathfinder chooses to use this SPDU Type ? We don't preclude it. Therefore, shouldn't Type 4 be mentioned in the 211.1 document wherever Type 5 is also mentioned ? And mentioned in such a way that emphasizes Type 5 is the preferred approach for interoperability and future use.
Regards,
Greg
