[SLS-CC] 131.20-O draft Orange Book (SCCC-X) WG review -> Deadline 17 December

Dear Tomaso,

even if the request comes well after the deadline for comments, I think
it's very well in line with what we are doing the the telemetry coding
books, so I believe it can be accepted.
ESA will implement it in the version for the CCSDS editor.

Best regards,
Massimo

-> Deadline 17 December

Dear Massimo, All,

just re-reading again the new version, I noticed that the specification
accepts TM and AOS frames, whereas no mention to USLP frames is given. At
first glance, it looks to me that also fixed-length USLP frames should be
easily supported and could be therefore considered as well.
I know my comment is well beyond the deadline for providing comments (I
apologize for this) but I think the WG could certainly take this into
consideration given the fact that has almost no implications from a
technical side (no rework of the current specification) and only a small
editorial update on the book will be necessary.

Best Regards,

Tomaso

Dear colleagues,

based on the comments received and following the confirmations from Enrico
and Clèment about the implementation of their comments,
please find attached the final version of the orange book (same as the one
distributed on 18 December).
With this, my interpretation is that the WG review is closed successfully,
and on behalf of the WG I would ask the Area Director to trigger the
process
for its publication. ESA will provide the relevant material (word
documents, figures) shortly to the editor.

Best regards,
Massimo

Dear all,

following the deadline for the WG review of the SCCC-X draft Orange Book
(yesterday), you can find the received comments in CWE, at :
https://tinyurl.com/r2pz4aw
and below for your convenience.

- E. Vassallo

- C. Dudal

ESA (A. Modenini) addressed the comments and provided an updated draft,
attached here for your convenience (and in CWE at the link above)

In detail:
-Constellation pictures (128 and 256) re-done, so that they are really
square (E. Vassallo's comment)
-Replacement of FD code structure (Figure 5-6) with XOR instead of
Multiplier (A. Modenini's comment) (the editorial change affects the
sequence after the parallel to serial, now using the proper XOR sign)
-Update of CER results (C. Dudal's comment): thanks to the comment, ESA
realised that the wrong optimal OBO was reported for 128APSK in the
Nonlinear numerical results.
In the new draft figures and tables are updated with the correct values
and the trend w.r.t. 64APSK seems fine, showing better results at the
price of slightly higher OBO.
For 256APSK ESA crosschecked and confirmed the results already reported.

For Enrico and Clèment: could you please check if the new draft satisfies
your requests? With the coming Xmas break, I suppose you may not manage
easily before...2nd week of January?
I will wait for your feedback by then (10th January, if you can make it
earlier it's even better obviously) and proceed with the processing
(depending on your answers).

Best regards,
Massimo

Dear colleagues,

ESA (Andrea) just provided an updated version of the SCCC-X (131.20-O)
Orange Book, including the simulation results (annex), as agreed in
Darmstadt (AI_19_11 in the minutes).
With this message, I would like to start the WG review.
Similarly to the on-going review of the DVB-S2X Orange Book, your comments
are expected by in 6 weeks, with deadline 17 December.
As for other WG reviews, we don't have a standard format for the comments.
You can use the standard CCSDS RID format used for Agency Review, if you
wish so, but you are not
obliged to do so.
Please address the comments to Andrea (andrea.modenini at esa.int) and
myself, we will take care of collecting them.
If you wish, you can also use the following CWE area to leave your
comments (in that case I would appreciate if you let me know)

Massimo
