Dear All,
in a meeting about possible ECSS Adoption Notes for CCSDS docs to
replace some ECSSS standards, Marjorie de Lande Long has pointed out the
following difference between the two standards:
R-S Berlecamp Annex, Table Equivalence of Representations: ECSS underlines
entries that correspond to values with exactly one non-zero element and
match a row in the matrix.
I suggest that the C&S WG consider in the next meeting whether modifying
Annex F of CCSDS 131.0-B to use the same approach of the ECSS book.
Most likely, the change would be limited to adding a note (like note b
that you find in page 48 of the ECSS Standard) and underlines the values
to which this is applicable.
To support the discussion I have uploaded in CWE (Directory: The CCSDS
Collaborative Work Environment (CWE) > Space Link Services Area (SLS) >
Documents > SLS-CandS > Meeting Materials > 2015 > 2015_11 Darmstadt >
CCSDS131.0-B.AnnexF ; http://tiny.cc/vd1a0x ) the following documents:
- The referenced standard: ECSS-E-ST-50-01C(31July2008).pdf
- Some considerations of GF 256 from POLITO (thanks to Prof. Garello):
POLITO_on_GF256
- A paper referenced in those considerations:
Truong,Deutsch,Reed,Hsu,Wang,Yeh-70H.pdf
Of course some material may even be included in the Coding Green Book when
an update will be done.
Regards
Gian Paolo
