The following draft CCSDS Recommended Standard has been placed on line
for 
CCSDS Agency review:

      CCSDS 133.1-R-4.  Encapsulation Service.  Red Book.
                        Issue 4.  September 2005.

DOCUMENT DESCRIPTION:  The draft CCSDS Recommended Standard for 
Encapsulation Service specifies a communications service to be used by 
space missions to transfer protocol data units that are not directly 
transferred by the Space Data Link Protocols over a ground-to-space or 
space-to-space communications link.  The current draft issue 4
   -  adds reference to Proximity 1 Space Link Protocol;
   -  adds note concerning differences between the Encapsulation Packet
      header and obsolete Encapsulation Data Unit header defined in
      original (superseded) Space Link Protocol documents;
   -  changes User Defined Field from 1 octet  to 4 bits;
   -  adds 4-bit Protocol ID Extension field.


The due date for receipt of review comments by the Review Coordinator
is 
2005-12-16.  Area Directors and WG/BOF Chairs may submit review
comments 
directly to the CCSDS Review Coordinator.  More information is
