Simon slide on compression mechanism

Use sequence #s / run-length encoding

Issue with fragments?

Simon’s mechanism relies on the bundle timestamp sequence # to do run-length (fragile)

Felix’s description

Felix’s uses extension blocks with known compact sequence numbers and a ‘flow id’ so that you can run multiple parallel sequence spaces.

• If a bundle is fragmented, wait for it to be reassembled

Potential services

Services from a new extension block:

• Get reports from these things

• Do THIS with the extension block once you report

• Compact sequence numbers for efficiency

• What to do about fragmentation?

Scott: could include a confidence # (e.g. 80%) in custody reports that I can get this to the destination?
