[Sis-csi] CLEO: IPsec and IPv6 now running in orbit.

On Thursday 29 March 2007, CLEO, the Cisco router in Low Earth Orbit onboard the UK-DMC satellite, was configured to use IPsec and IPv6. These features were then tested successfully during the same pass.

I've updated the CLEO slideset at
ftp://ftp-eng.cisco.com/lwood/cleo/README.html

with some information at end briefly outlining this.

We're likely the first to fly IPv6 and IPsec onboard a satellite (the code was in the original firmware launched with the satellite in 2003), and it's taken us a while to get around to upgrading SSTL's ground infrastructure with IPv6-capable software, turning it all on, and configuring and using it. Previous successful testing had focused on IPv4.

CLEO is still operational after over three years in orbit.

regards,

L.
