David,

Excellent job! Really, really excellent. You've combined the
thoroughness of Pat's draft with the incremental approach from my draft,
and I'm very happy with the results.

Tim

Subject: [Sis-ams] Green Book/Test Plan & Possible Spec Correction

All,

My draft of an interoperability test plan is now on the CWE (uploaded by
Scott), building on Tim and Pat's drafts. It adds details and tables
for recording the results. RAMS testing and multiple configuration
servers are the only sections currently missing. I think the multiple
iterations listed should cover most useful permutations of the main AMS
functionality, though I'm sure there's room for improvement.

I'm cleaning up my Green Book draft/outline, which I'll likely send out
soon. In the process, I found a few small items in the spec, listed
below, but which we can always discuss in Berlin next week.

I think I found a small discrepancy in the spec, section 2.3.5. It
states "[the node] re-queries the configuration server to determine the
new network location of the registrar and resumes exchanging
heartbeats." This doesn't reflect the fact that the node also needs to
issue a 'reconnect' first. I think it should be changed to something
like: "...and continues with the reconnection procedures prior to
resuming heartbeat exchange."

Organizationally in the Red Book, I think the "Conformance Classes" and
the new "Service conformance Statement" chapters should be consecutive,
ie: swap chapters 7 and 8. It doesn't necessarily matter, but the MIB
chapter simply seems misplaced stuck in between the two conformance
sections.
