Dear SSG & XSG,

Just as a reminder, we are meeting at BSI today, 14 Nov, in Rm 507. The SANA meeting starts at 0845 to accommodate Marc who is in Honolulu.

We will start the XSG meeting at roughly 1030, once the SSG has completed. The agenda items for the XSG are copied below.

Thanks, Peter

Subject: Materials for discussion at the XSG SIG, Friday, 14 Nov, 0845-1030

Dear XSG Colleagues,

We have several items to discuss at the upcoming meeting. The primary topics are these:

1) The status of the CCSDS namespace RFC & related policy
2) The status of the actual XML Guidelines
3) How we can handle the XML SIG and SSG during the CCSDS meeting
4) A related topic of the things we want to do with the CCSDS Glossary

I have attached the updated versions of the CCSDS Namespace RFC and the related Namespace policy. These are essentially the same documents we reviewed before, except that the RFC has had the dates updated and the CCSDS Namespace Policy has been edited to reflect recent CESG discussions and to clean up some of the terminology. I used Track Changes, so you can see what has changed from the previous version.

I would really like to get these items "off the dime" and published right after this meeting if we can get agreement.

I am also working on a proposed approach for an XML schema guideline. It leverages both the ESA XML Guideline and a highly regarded Google Guideline. I do not have this ready yet, but you will have it in your hands no later than Sunday night, 10 Nov.

I have used some of my scarce resources to get someone from JPL to help with the CCSDS Gloassry -> ontology project. I expect to discuss this in detail in the SEA System Architecture BoF which is where I think we should be working this specific issue. I have attached the current draft here for your reference. My thinking is that this will indeed become a SANA registry, but that it may need some different support and update policies than the other registries. We will discuss that on next Friday as well.

Best regards and safe travels, Peter
