Dear SAWG team,
During our SAWG working meetings in Cleveland we tentatively agreed to have a telecon on Tuesday, 10 May. In order to spread the pain evenly we agreed to start at 0600 Pacific, which, if my calculations are correct, is 0800 Central, 0900 Eastern, 1400 in the UK, and 2100 in China.
I did not send this notice out sooner, so I hope that you all have it on your calendars. Please let me know by sending and email if you are available then.
If you are not available also please let me know. My proposed next date would be two weeks after that, on 24 May. So if you cannot make the 10 May date please indicate if 24 May will work.
I am ataching the notes from the meeting. At this next telecon I would like to see the following:
* The MOIMS black box and while box views rendered using the agreed formats
* The MOIMS changes we agreed to, including adding the Archive funcitons and objects
* (Extra credit) add funciotns to reflect the audio and video services from SIS
* The SOIS black box and while box views rendered using the agreed formats, service interfaces and operations
* The SOIS changes we agreed to, including fixing the DVS and showing clearly how EDS fits into the overall picture
* (Extra credit) describe how EDS fits into an overall view of SOIS development, I&T and V&V
* (More extra credit) provide info from Sec WG about security services and functions
The picture of how EDS fits into this entire context is, I suspect, something that will need input from Glenn and Jonathan, so I have copied them as well. If there are some well formed materials from those WG that we can use that would be the best. And if we need to work together with SOIS to come up with materials that present these concepts in a form that is consistent with the rest of what we have done we can do that as a part of this work in a future meeting.
I have also attached, for reference, some of the earliest materials describing how SOIS subnet and related services were intended to work. This stuff dates back to May-Dec 2000, when the WG was called SOIF. Regardless, it will provide some (hopefully useful) background for what exists today in SOIS.
Thanks, Peter
