Dear SEA SAWG BOFers,
I left off the Monday AM agenda topic, which is a special one:
Monday, Nov 9, 10:45 – 12:30: Special Topic, SCID registry changes
This session and room is being reserved to meet with member of other areas to discuss the issue of Spacecraft ID registries and the adoption of a set of “frequency bins” that are proposed to increase the available SCID allocation space.
This will review the work that has been initiated in the SANA Steering Group (SSG) to develop a Registry Management Policy. Please participate.
Thanks, Peter

Dear SEA SAWG members,
The responses to the conditions raised in the CESG poll to re-start the WG are attached, along with a Concept Paper which was requested. The Concept Paper is largely drawn from the original SAWG Management Framework descriptions, and it aligns with the materials we have been reviewing in the last two BoF meetings. Because of this the Concept Paper should be quite familiar, but I took the liberty of adding some new diagrams to try and clarify the relationships among the several topics that are being addressed. You may find these of interest.
The Concept Paper and the spreadsheet with the conditions is attached. We also polled you, the SAWG members, and the CESG and CMC asking for candidates for WG chair. There have been no responses. Accordingly, if no one else wishes to take on this role I will continue for now.
Hope to see you all in (less than) three weeks. The draft agenda follows:
Monday, Nov 9, 14:30-17:30: System Architecture BoF
Review whole proposed program of work
Discuss any other changes / additions / deletions to the plan of work
Make any last adjustments to the WG charter and Concept Paper
Tuesday, Nov 10, 08:45-12:30: System Architecture BoF
Discuss draft materials for “CCSDS Reference Architecture”, the parts known as “CCSDS Mission Operations (or Application Layer) Architecture”
Identify any issues in aligning this Application Layer Architecture (ALA) with the existing SCCS-ADD
Identify any issues between MOIMS and SOIS
Develop a plan for developing the ALA in phases, starting with a concistent set of “RASDS Cartoons” that can be reviewed with the other areas & CESG
Tuesday, Nov 10, 13:30 – 17:30: System Architecture BoF
Discuss RASDS refresh approach, in two phases, with re-confirmation followed by the more extensive refresh later
Discuss registry issues and draft Registry Management Policy (result to be reviewed with the SSG on Thursday afternoon)
Discuss CCSDS information model, glossary and ontology approaches
SA BoF Wrap-up, work plans
Tuesday, Nov 10, 1730-1900: Special Meeting - CCSDS System Architecture (MOIMS & SOIS) Reference Model
A special “after hours” meeting to accommodate those who must attend other WG
Discuss draft set of MOIMS / SOIS materials
Develop a plan for inegrating this work into the “CCSDS Reference Architecture”
Regards, Peter

Subject: Upcoming SEA System Architecture BoF
Dear SEA SAWG members,
The CCSDS does not yet have anything like a formal procedure for soliciting candidates for new (or re-started) working groups. That said, as the SEA AD I would like to solicit candidates from the agencies to chair the SEA System Architecture WG that is now being proposed for re-start. If you know of qualified candidates that you would like to propose please send their names to me no later than 5 October 2015.
If you, or other persons, are interested in the work, but not interested in leading the effort, I would also like to solicit their names. As described in the last two CESG reports to the CMC the overall body of work that is proposed includes:
* Create CCSDS Reference Architecture for CMC (“cartoon” and formal model)
* Develop a formal ontology for CCSDS and related XML schema guidelines
* Refresh Reference Architecture for Space Data Systems (RASDS)
* Develop a process for sustaining the reference architecture, ontology and schema
* Develop a CCSDS wide registry management policy to guide the WGs and SANA operator
I would like to meet as a WG at the upcoming meeting in Darmstadt. Even if we cannot accomplish that we will meet again as a BoF. Please plan to attend. The various working materials that have been discussed to date at stored in the CWE at this location:http://cwe.ccsds.org/sea/docs/Forms/AllItems.aspx?RootFolder=%2fsea%2fdocs%2fSEA-SA%2fMeeting%20Materials%2f2015%2fSpring%202015%20Pasadena&FolderCTID=&View={50B434A7-BB62-4E03-A971-45271E7C0B86}
Please check out the materials from the last meeting and updates provided since then.
Best regards, Peter
