[MOIMS] MOIMS Report to CESG

Dear MOIMS leads,

please find enclosed the presentation in subject that had been delivered 
at the last CESG.

Main notes:

All - Glossary of Terms: WGs are invited to achieve streamlining of the 
terminology across their documents and the SANA glossary in particular in 
the occasion of new or under-revision documents.

DAI - OAIS-IF Architecture: SEA AD raised concerns on the scope of the 
document, which seems much reduced with respect to the initial vision.

DAI - Control Authority Office (slide 5): SEA AD believe that required 
changes are minimal and not time consuming. Also, it is not clear who has 
active CAO systems today. Clearly, should there be no CAO system today, 
the 3 documents could be siverised. Action DAI to provide the list of 
active CAO systems.

DAI - Upcoming New Work Item (slide 8): Action DAI to request a new 
project via the CWE framework.

SM&C - MOIMS-SOIS (slide 14): Long discussion with SEA AD reported in 
dedicated email to SM&C.

SM&C - SCID issue (slide 15): The SCID is merely a volatile communication 
parameter (apparently this is clearly spelled out in one CCSDS standard), 
which often is misused in ground systems as the mean to permanently 
identify the data from a given S/C. Possible solutions are that an 
agency/mission defines its own local and permanent S/C identifier, or that 
the already existing S/C OID mechanism in SANA is used. Action MM to raise 
the matter with the IOAG chair to increase the awareness of this issue.

All - CCSDS-Gateway relationship (slide 17): Action MM to draft a note for 
the CMC that, if approved, will be sent to the Gateway to make them aware 
of the interest to CCSDS in service such a large international endeavour 
with effective interoperability standards. 

All - RID system: The large majority of the CESG was for a simple Excel 
based system.
