JGG: DEDSL XML Schema - 1st draft 1 year ago and 2nd 6 months ago mostly by
CNES. It is consistent with PVL and DTD - upper case . XSG asked us to
change the convention. At Darmstadt procedures were changed so we now need
report (YB) on test of prototype(s) - 1 for OB and 2 prototypes for BB.
Mark circulated an outline. Mike - we should use terminology that the
project managers are familiar with. Bob: Project Mgt Body of Knowledge uses
5 stages - used generically. Extra stage is project close.
1. Initiating: processes performed to define a new project or a new
phase of an existing project by obtaining authorization to start the project
or phase.
2. Planning: Those processes required to establish the scope of the
project, refine the objectives, and define the course of action required to
attain the objectives that the project was undertaken to achieve.
3. Executing: Those processes performed to complete the work defined in
the project management plan to satisfy the project specifications
4. Monitoring and Controlling: Those processes required to track,
review, and regulate the progress and performance of the project; identify
any areas in which changes to the plan are required; and initiate the
corresponding changes.
5. Closing: Those processes performed to finalize all activities across
all Process Groups to formally close the project or phase.
Mike suggests changing "Project" to "Process" so ICP is associated with the
whole project
Agreed to use IC"Process" within a "Project" and also try to use PMBOK
stages
Some PMBOK images have 4 stages - combining Executing and Monitoring
Use "Closing" instead of "Exploiting"
Discussion of Terry's note - he introduced a disposition stage. Could be
added to the "PMBOK" Closing stage. Also could align with Records
management.
Bob: some data may be archived or made ready for archive before CLOSING.
Mike: most of project has project focus but we can add Enterprise view -
presumably as Annex. Note a project proposal may not lead to a funded
activity - the project in that case is the project.
