[Css-csts] Incomplete and confusing definition of content of
RAF-TRANSFER-DATA data parameter

Members of the CSTSWG,
Please forgive me if this is a known item to you.
In section 3.6.2.8 of the Version 2 RAF Blue Book, the specification
identifies what should be the proper content of the data parameter if
the delivered-frame-quality is 'good' or 'erred'. However, it does not
address what the content should be when the value is 'undetermined'. Of
course, it's difficult to state *specifically* what it should contain,
but there should be some mention of the possibility, e.g., that it is
implementation-dependent.
Also, 3.6.2.8 (b) states that when 'erred' the data field is to contain
a data unit the same length as a frame. However, NOTE 1 below it
identifies the "entire codeblock" as the data to be delivered when
'erred'. In a Reed-Solomon codeblock, the frame is a subset of the
codeblock. It's my understanding that the full codeblock is to be sent,
and so it appears that the definition in (b) is incorrect.
Finally, in the note at the end of section 3.6.2.6,
"requested-frame-quality" should be in Courier (non-proportional) font.
Is there a running list somewhere of typos and other "RIDs" that will be
(presumably) eventually addressed in a pink-sheet process? Is sending
them out to the CSTS mailing list the most appropriate approach? There
are places on the CWE that could be used to post such material (e.g.,
Action Items/Dispositions or Discussion), but they don't seem to have
much traffic and I don't know if the members of the WG routinely look
there.
Best regards,
John
