Dear Shigeta-san

Thank you for your assessment. I agree that the situation is not settled, although it is improving slowly.

I support planning for a hybrid meeting, just in case. As we get closer, if travel restrictions ease, we can hope that a majority of participants try to be present in person. I know I will be there.

Sami

    Dear CMC and CESG members,

Since there is still no clear prospect of the Omicron variant being controlled in Japan and the relaxation of restrictions on re-entry to Japan is slow, it's still difficult to obtain travel permission from JAXA at this time. We would like to participate if the situation improves, but we would appreciate arranging hybrid meetings.

It has been a long time since the meetings have been held virtually for some time now, and the progress of documentation has been affected, we would like to attend the meetings in person, however, due to the above circumstances, your understanding would be appreciated.

    Regards...Shigeta

    Dear CMC and CESG,

Planning for this spring's CCSDS meetings has continued. At this time, NASA will be able to host the spring 2022 Technical and CESG meetings in-person. We would like to hear from you if you expect attendees from your agency will be able to travel or if you have any concerns. As a reminder, the meetings will be 9-16 May 2022. We acknowledge that, as always, some participants will be unable to attend in-person and we will accommodate working groups hosting hybrid, in-person/remote meetings.

Please respond with your agency's expected ability to attend this spring's meetings in-person by 2 March 2022.

    Sincerely,

    Michael Blackwood
