CMC-P-2006-06-006, Authorization to approve the liaison 
between TC20/SC13 CCSDS Navigation WG and the TC20/SC14 WG 
3 Operations and Ground Support

If the responses are not acceptable, then please notify 
the Secretariat (secretariat at mailman.ccsds.org) before 25 
Aug.  If no comments are received then the poll will be 
approved and designated as a CMC resolution.

Mr. David Berry is the NASA/JPL member to the navigation 
WG. He
has been an active member since early 2004 and a 
significant
contributor to the development of all navigation 
Recommendations.

Is there any potential impact on the charter of the 
Navigation WG?

Yes, this is a new work item and the charter has been 
revised to
reflect this additional activity. The original request was
coordinated with CCSDS ISO representatives Dr. Eduardo 
Bergamini
and Mr. Adrian Hooke.

collaboration limited to comments and suggestions; is

option to go further and make sure of no duplication or

activities (production) in some cases?

ITEM:
I approve the liaison but I do not understand the resource
implications for NASA. The attachment states that a NASA 
person has
been assigned to the liaison ("Dr. David Berry designated 
by Felipe
Flores-Amaya and Nestor Peccia ") but it does not indicate 
whether
such an appointment falls within existing resources or is 
an
"additional duty" for Dr. Berry.

This is a new work item. Approval of the liaison and the 
revised
charter includes approval of the additional resources.
