[CMC E-Poll Alert] Re: Action Required - CMC Members Polled Regarding XTCE-OMG Proposal

In response to the attached message, INPE re-affirms its already previously
expressed approval to the XTCE related CCSDS-OMG proposed initiative. Also,
re-confirming its previous position under another Action Item, INPE expresses
that it is, at the moment, only in condition to support CCSDS document review
with possible inclusion of eventual, technical suggestions, under its current
WG commitments. 

Based on the SM&C WG 10-14 May 2004 meeting report presented by Mario Merri
INPE appreciates the joint CCSDS-OMG terms which resulted from the event. They
clearly indicate that there are sufficient reasons for CCSDS considering the
generation of a Blue Book on the "XTCE" theme as a possible, first result from
a joint, effective work between CCSDS and OMG.

ITEM FOR CCSDS MANAGEMENT COUNCIL ACTION

CMC Members are reminded again that the following resolution has been
forwarded from the CESG to the CMC for disposition.  Responses were originally
due by 15 July 2004.

CMC members are asked to approve (YES) or disapprove (NO) the following
resolution and with a "YES" vote, members should report their Agency resource
committments to the activity:

The CESG recommends to the CMC that the review of the "XML Telemetric and
Command Data Exchange Format (XTCE)" proposal should be conducted as a joint
activity between CCSDS and the OMG in accordance with the attached proposal,
with a joint CCSDS-OMG team appointed to conduct the review and the requested
resources of 2-3 work months made available by the CMC to support this
activity."
 
Several CMC members have already voted in the affirmative for this resolution,
but did not provide details of potential support.  Please follow-up your
original vote with the requested details.

The XTCE-OMG proposal is attached to this message.
