This is a pending issue since some time now and it is the 1st time than we 
get an official contact / request from ECSS. Therefore we should 
accommodate this request as an agenda point (1 hour max.) of the CMC next 
week preferably on the 9th.

Dear Mr Kearney, 

I contact you on behalf of the ECCS organization and acting as the 
chairman of the ECSS Technical Authority. 

Up to now, a lot of technical exchanges have been naturally performed 
through european people active in both organizations. It's the right time 
now to formalize our relationship and we are coming with a very 
cooperative spirit.

In order to initialize the process, we would take the opportunity of the 
CMC meeting next week and we popose to make a 1h- presentation with the 
following agenda:

1. Current ECSS new organization, benchmarking and objective 

2. Preparation of a cooperation Agreement   

        2a - ECSS points of contact and roadmap 
        2b - Driving principle (Recognition of CCSDS as the primary forum 
for establishment of standards for “space data systems and their 
interoperability”)
            2c - Short term Exchanges 
                - Comments, consistency check, prioritization of the 
activities and processing 
                    - ECSS involvement in CCSDS reviews when ECSS interest 

                        - Subject of Copyright and ownership 

We would highly appreciate if you can arrange a time slot in the afternoon 
of October, the 9th (the 10th as backup).
