	I have had two comments from CMC members to enhance my note, sent previously.  

	 

	First is that the volunteer to draft the first version was our BNSC representative, not an ESA representative.  I meant to say that it was from one of the European agencies , not specifically ESA.   

	 

	The second one is that we should identify our Liaison points-of-contact on both sides.  From the CCSDS side, the CMC has assigned this for now to Nestor Peccia, CESG co-chair.  From the ECSS presentation I think said it would be the TA.  Should we use your name, Thien?  If so, then after the CMC poll, we would put your name as the contact on the CCSDS Liaisons web page.  http://public.ccsds.org/participation/liaisons.aspx <http://public.ccsds.org/participation/liaisons.aspx>

	Dear Mr. Lam-Trong and ECSS colleagues,

	 

	Thank you for taking the time to address the joint meeting of the CCSDS Engineering Steering Group and Management Council on 9 October in Darmstadt.

	 

	Your presentations provided a good deal of information on the current state of ECSS and a proposal for future collaboration. We discussed them further in the management council meeting the next day.  The notable results are:  

	·         We noted that like all others, ECSS was already able to submit comments and RIDs for CCSDS documents under review.  

	·         We noted that there were other standards organizations with which we had liaison relationships, and we agreed that ECSS should also become a liaison.  We will start the process with a CMC poll immediately.  

	·         We agreed that it would be useful to have a special liaison statement with ECSS that address the goal of avoiding duplication.

	·         One of our ESA representatives on the CCSDS Management Council agreed to provide a first draft of that statement.

	·         We will plan to iterate it with you, as you recommended in your presentation.  

	·         We hope that we will have a generally agreed upon document for discussion at your 11 December ECSS SB meeting.

	 

	I believe that this essentially meets the intent of the ECSS proposals in your presentation.   Thank you for taking the initiative to make the presentation to the CMC.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.
