[CMC] Proposed CMC meeting, June 2007

It will not be possible to attend a meeting in June, which would 
be a third one in the year, considering the one already scheduled 
for October, in Darmstadt, and the one we had in CO Springs, at 
the end of last January. It is simply beyond our budgetary possibility.

Even not being able to attend a meeting in June, it seems logical
to me Jean-Marc's and Loredana's comments. If it turns out to be 
the case, perhaps, even a (partially) joint IOAG and CMC meeting 
may be found to be opportune, depending on the planned Agenda.

For those that may not attend the June meeting under consideration, 
an immediately pos-meeting teleconference may possibly complement 
discussions that may require a more wide audience. Otherwise, 
e-pollings may also complement pendences which, in principle, do 
not require more discussions.

  I fully agree with Loredana : 
  - is there enough material to discuss at that time ?
  - the connections of CCSDS with OMG do not really justify that we have a meeting with the SDTF, according to the discussions in Cold Springs ; 
  - another question is about the non European participants : can we hold a CMC if the answer of Japan, Canada, Brazil, Russia... is that they cannot attend ?
  There is an opportunity but all answers should be considered...

  If everybody agrees for an intermediate meeting, the IOAG in Spain is a good alternate location as already 3 of the CMC members will be there.

    In principle I have no objection for this additional meeting, but, do we have enough material to discuss? What about the progress on chartering systems and procedures at that time? What about the operating plan?

    Furthermore, for logistic reason, even if it is also interesting to attend the OMG meetings, it could be better to organize it in Spain following the IOAG-11 one, in order to save time and travel cost for people attending both meetings.

    Dear CMC Members:

    Recognizing the unusually long period between meetings (January  to October 2007), I have been looking for an opportunity to propose an "interim" CMC meeting to review where we are headed.  Notably, it would help if we could discuss business practice proposals without waiting until the October meeting.  

    Such an opportunity has just occurred to hold a CMC meeting in Brussels on 25-26 June 2007. This meeting would be hosted by the OMG and it would allow CMC members to also participate on the Space Domain Task Force Meeting on  27 June and in the OMG Space Information Day on 28 June http://www.omg.org/news/meetings/tc/Space-Seminar.htm.

    This timing is also extremely opportune because it is the week immediately following IOAG-11 in Spain.

    Could you please indicate as soon as possible if you could participate in a 25-26 June CMC meeting in Brussels?
