Dear all,
I am attaching the final version of the presentation that I delivered today
to the Cislunar ICG-IOAG PNT workshop.
In a nutshell the feedback from the community is that they are open to team
up with CCSDS to turn the existing technical specification in the domain
into CCSDS standards. However, a duplication of technical expertise from the
existing groups into CCSDS is not wanted. I also tend to agree with this
since the existing technical groups e.g. within the ICG are well established
and working well. This became obvious during the three days of the workshop.
So, in a nutshell there are two things we could consider to address the
needs of the Cislunar PNT community:
* Finding a place in CCSDS for the processing and standardisation of
the existing technical PNT specifications (as discussed, default option here
is the (evolved) Time Management WG but contribution from other WGs is
needed as well)
* Thinking about the possibility to introduce a new flavour of CCSDS
specification targeting standardised ICDs. This was also once of suggestions
from SLS coming out of the assessment of AFS.
Let's discuss this further in our next meeting.
Cheers
Daniel
