 ======================================================================

SEA-R-2018-06-02 Request review for publication of CCSDS 350.8-P-1.0, Information Security Glossary of Terms (Proposed Pink Book, Issue 1.0, May 2018)

The System Engineering Area,

CONSIDERING that:

The current Sec WG Security Glossary was published as a Green Book, and that
The Sec WG wishes to use this document as a normative reference in other Security WG documents.

And RECOGNIZING that:

The CCSDS Organization and Processes (A02.1-Y-4 cor 2) 6.1.4.3 Magenta Book Normative document states
6.1.4.3 Recommended Practices are normative and have prescriptive content but are typically not directly implementable for interoperability or cross support. They may be of several types:
a)  specifications that are “foundational” for other specifications, but within themselves do not define content in a way that allows independent development and testing of separate but interoperable systems;
and that,
The CCSDS Publications Manual states that the Definition sections of CCSDS documents are considered to be normative content, and that
The Security Glossary is, by its nature, a sort of extended Definitions section, intended for normative reference in multiple documents, and that
The CCSDS Organization and Processes (A02.1-Y-4 cor 2) requires that an AD shall ask the CESG and CMC to review and approve documents for publication, and that
The SEA AD has reviewed and approved this draft.

RESOLVES to request:

That the Secretariat initiate a poll requesting CESG and CMC approval to publish the CCSDS 350.8-P-1.0, Information Security Glossary of Terms (Proposed Pink Book, Issue 1.0, May 2018)

SEA-R-2018-06-03 Request review for publication of CCSDS 352.0-P-1.0, CCSDS Cryptographic Algorithms (Proposed Pink Book, Issue 1.0, June 2018)

The System Engineering Area,

CONSIDERING that:

The current Sec WG has reviewed and updated the CCSDS 352.0-P-1.0, CCSDS Cryptographic Algorithms (Proposed Pink Book, Issue 1.0, June 2018), and that
The Sec WG wishes to publish this document.

And RECOGNIZING that:

The CCSDS Organization and Processes (A02.1-Y-4 cor 2) 6.1.4.5 Blue Book Normative document states
6.1.4.5 The flow of documents on the Recommended Standard branch is
·         –  CCSDS Proposed Draft Recommended Standard (White Book);
·         –  CCSDS Draft Recommended Standard (Red Book and Pink Sheets);
· – CCSDS Recommended Standard (Blue Book).
NOTE – Successful completion of a formal agency review always is required for a document on the Recommended Standard branch of the Normative Track in order to do the following:
o    –  advance through each of the various issues of a Draft Recommended Standard;
o – transition from CCSDS Draft Recommended Standard to CCSDS Recommended Standard.
and that,
The CCSDS Organization and Processes (A02.1-Y-4 cor 2) requires that an AD shall ask the CESG and CMC to review and approve documents for publication, and that
The SEA AD has reviewed and approved this Pink Book.

RESOLVES to request:

That the Secretariat initiate a poll requesting CESG and CMC approval to publish the CCSDS 352.0-P-1.0, CCSDS Cryptographic Algorithms (Proposed Pink Book, Issue 1.0, June 2018).
