Dear CESG members,

as you can see the OMG is pushing hard.

As agreed, I have initiated the discussion with the OMG liaison person,
Jon Siegel, to avoid overlaps with the CCSDS glossary. Nestor and Peter
were in copy.

If I can, I will dial in.

Regards,

__Mario

The Space Domain Task Force (DTF) at the Object Management Group® (OMG®)
is looking for ways to improve communications with respect to spacecraft
ground systems. It is seeking input on standards and best practices for
communications between people and systems - including vocabularies,
knowledge graphs, ontologies and glossaries that might be consolidated or
reused to eliminate ambiguity and improve understanding.
In the past, different contractors have used language and jargon specific
to the functionality of their ground systems to launch, track, operate and
in some cases retrieve satellites and other manned and unmanned space
vehicles. Contractors are now mindful of ways to improve communications
with each other to avoid failures that can be vast and expensive when
building a ground system that supports satellites from multiple vendors.
The OMG Space DTF is seeking to normalize the terminology used within the
spacecraft ground systems domain. We are seeking information on existing
or emerging dictionaries, glossaries, or ontologies in this domain.
Additionally, the Space DTF is interested in hearing from organizations
that might be interested in this topic. The Space DTF will use these
responses to either adopt an existing reference or recommend the
development of a new consolidated reference
