Agency Review of CCSDS 401.0-B ?Radio Frequency and Modulation 
Systems-Part 1? for Recommendations 2.4.18 and 2.5.6B

The Space Link services Area, 
CONSIDERING that the RF & Modulation (RFM) WG 
·       completed successfully the WG discussion of CCSDS 401.0-B ?Radio 
Frequency and Modulation Systems-Part 1? Blue Book for the following 
updated recommendations
o       2.4.18 ?MODULATION METHODS AT HIGH SYMBOL RATE TRANSMISSIONS, 
EARTH EXPLORATION SATELLITES (EES) 8 GHZ BAND, SPACE-TO-EARTH?, and
o       2.5.6B ?DIFFERENTIAL ONE-WAY RANGING FOR SPACE-TO-EARTH LINKS IN 
ANGULAR SPACECRAFT POSITION DETERMINATION, CATEGORY B?,
·       identified draft pink sheets to CCSDS 401.0-B representing the 
consensus of the WG
·       CONSIDERING that 
o       for rec. 2.4.18 new independent implementations are already 
available from approved rec. 2.4.23, and 
o       for rec. 2.5.6B no new independent implementations are required 
since changes are limited to the  addition of one single frequency to the 
list, and
o       for both recommendations no known patent issues exist. 
RESOLVES to request CESG/CMC to approve Agency Review of Pink Sheets of 
CCSDS 401.0-B ?Radio Frequency and Modulation Systems?Part 1: Earth 
Stations and Spacecraft? for
o       updated recommendation 2.4.18, and 
o       updated recommendation 2.5.6B.
RECOMMENDS that the CESG approve this resolution and, finally
REQUESTS that a CESG poll be conducted to accomplish this.
