Dear Margherita:
The CESG Polls to approve release of the updates to the SLE API
Magenta Books for CCSDS review concluded with conditions. The
conditions that need to be addressed by the Working Group are listed
below. Current procedures for resolving poll conditions are given at
the end of this message.
Best regards,
Tom Gannett
Approval Condition for CCSDS 914.0-P-1.1:
As backward compatibility implications for Generation 1 are stated,
include also implications for Generation2.
Section E4.2 states that "The Application Program Interface specified
in this Recommended Practice shall not be assumed to be backward
compatible with specifications in earlier versions of the Recommended
Practice.". Therefore the statements marked G1 or G2 (and not
applicable to G3) cannot be inside mandatory clauses (with shall) but
moved outside to be optional.
Approval Condition for CCSDS 915.1-P-1.1:
As backward compatibility implications for Generation 1 are stated,
include also implications for Generation2.
From the changes I can see in these pink sheets it looks to me that
the markings [Gn:] / [Gn,m:] are never used in this document. Is this
correct? If yes, why stating about those markers? Would it be simpler
to omit that part or state that the convention is set but not needed
yet till this version?
Please clarify.
Approval Condition for CCSDS 915.2-P-1.1:
As backward compatibility implications for Generation 1 are stated,
include also implications for Generation2.
Approval Condition for CCSDS 915.5-P-1.1:
Include a note to explain why Generation 1 is not valid for this book.
Approval Condition for CCSDS 916.3-P-1.1:
Include a note to explain why Generation 1 is not valid for this book.
