SLS-R-2011-02-002
The Space Link services Area,
CONSIDERING that
- the Space Data Link Security (SDLS) WG has produced a version of the
355.0 book representing the consensus of the WG on the core protocol
needed to secure, at the data link layer, the TM, TC, AOS based space
links.
- the proposed SDLS protocol is fully compatible with CCSDS TM, TC and AOS
data link protocols, and can provide authentication, integrity and/or
confidentiality on the TM/TC links to those missions which need it.
- the proposed SDLS protocol is compatible with a large range of
cryptographic algorithms being standardized within the SEA SecWG, enabling
missions to select the most appropriate algorithm.
- The SEA AD and SecWG concur in the selected approach.
RESOLVES to request CESG/CMC to approve the submission of the draft
recommended standard 355.0- R-0 Space Data Link Security Protocol to
Agency Review
RECOMMENDS that the CESG approve this resolution and, and finally
REQUESTS that a CESG poll be conducted to accomplish this.
