Dear Tomaso,

Thanks for pointing this out. I’ve just edited that slide (#7) to insert ENCAP and also replace BSSP with AMS and a set of message users. Those are all viable CCSDS standards.

Sorry for the need for last minute edits to clean this up, but I agree it’s best to be accurate. If you identify other issues please point them out.

Regards, Peter

Dear Klaus-Jürgen,

just two small remarks:

  * BP currently cannot work directly on top of USLP, whereas you could use BP over EPP/SPP and then encapsulated into USLP
  * BSSP, from a CCSDS standardization standpoint, there exist no blue book about it. There is a green book (CCSDS 730.2-G-1) elaborating on the different ways on how to achieve streaming over DTN.

Regards,

Tomaso

Also find attached the more detailed comments in the required spreadsheet format.

Looking forward to meeting with you.

Subject: LNIS v5 Comments: CCSDS CESG

Dear NASA, ESA, JAXA LunaNet Interoperability Specification (LNIS) Team,

CCSDS is fully committed to support the international LunaNet initiative with targeted standardisation activities to ensure interoperability and cross support between its partners. It has therefore carefully reviewed the LNIS v5 specification during its meetings in The Hague, Fall 2023.

Please find attached a short presentation from CCSDS CMC and CESG about the LNIS v5 specification.

The general impression is that the LNIS v5 is not in a state of maturity that would allow for a productive line-by-line RID Review. We would therefore prefer to first have an interaction in the form of a meeting, subsequent to which we can submit more detailed comments.

CCSDS is available as indicated in the presentation.

Looking forward to meeting with you.

Best Regards,

Klaus-Juergen Schulz (CESG Chair)
