Delta-DOR SIG
3rd Telecon on 31st May 2006
Participants:
JPL: D. Berry, J. Border
JAXA: Yoshikawa Makoto, Hiroshi Takeuchi
ESA: R. Maddè, S. Pallaschke, T. Morley, E. Sorensen, E, Vassallo, N. Peccia
NP has mentioned that NASA and ESA are negotiating a MoU concerning Ground
Station Network Cross Support, Space Navigation support and Mission
Operations Consultancy Services. The DDOR data exchange can be hopefully
handled under this MoU umbrella,
The following was agreed:
DOR Tones
JB closed his action from the last telecon by issuing a paper on extension of
the range of the highest tone.
The updating of recommendation 2.5.6B is not included in the current charter
of the SLS-RNG WG. It was agreed that R. Maddè/J. Border will present to the
joint meeting in Rome a proposal for changing the charter to include
considering revision of the recommendation.
The proposal shall indicate the reasons for revision (higher accuracy),
possible solutions (higher tone frequency, PN code) and the expected duration
and effort. It was aknowledged that inclusion of PN codes will require a
substantial effort.
A draft proposal will be sent by mid week 23 to JPL (Action: R. Maddè)
Concept Paper
JB / DB have closed their action from the last telecon by producing a new
version of the concept paper incorporating the agreements of the last
meetings. NP asked the reason for the upgrade of the Concept paper to a WB.
DB explained that the original Concept Paper was due to expire at the end of
May, and rather
than just update that paper, it was felt that converting it to a White Book
and adding the results of preceding telecons would accelerate progress
towards the creation of a true Delta-DOR Working Group.
We should discuss the final "color" of this WB during our SIG meeting in Rome
and the need of a GB.
Interface 2: Raw Data
This topic will be discussed in detailed by RM and JB. Both are free during
13th June am and the whole day on 14th June.
Items to be considered are :
Translator need
exchange of raw data
potential use of an european satellite for a DDOR campaign using 1 NASA
and 1 ESA Ground Station.
RM will prepare 2 or 3 charts showing a proposed roadmap for this activity
(Action RM)
The SIG shall also discuss about the creation of a BOF and then a WG on this
raw data interface. The Area should also be identified.
Interface 3: SLE Service Management for Navigation Data
NP contacted the CSS Area and invited them to participate in the D-DOR SIG
meeting on 13th June 2006 at 14.00 hrs. It was noted that Jaxa and NASA / JPL
support a RT transfer of Navigation Data from the Ground Station to the OCC.
Interface 4: ODM / TDM
The Navigation experts are of the opinion that the ODM (BB) / TDM (RB) books
cover (when considering current status + RIDs received) the D-DOR Reduced
Data.
