The objective is to simplify the Standard.
I don’t think there will be many cases, if any, with Enumerations containing more than 255 entries.

Hi César,

can you tell us what is the objective of this change? As you surely knows, the existing encodings optimize the encoding space according to the maximum value of each enumeration.

By the way I just realize that the limit of an Enumeration is now aUShort, while it was a UInteger in MAL v1. What was the objective of this change?

Dear All,

I would like to propose one more optimization, this time in the Enumerations.
Currently, Enumerations are defined in the UShort range (0-65535) and I would like to change this to UOctet (0-255).
This looks like a very simple and straight-forward update. Still, let me know if you foresee any potential drawbacks.

If I receive no reply within the next 2 weeks, I will assume that you agree and I will update the book accordingly.
