Minutes

1. Status of the Prototyping

A dedicated prototyping meeting was held on 28/03/2023, with the MoM provided by Dominik. The prototyping effort at DLR is progressing well. Prototyping at ESOC will continue with an internal support activity now in place.

2. Status of the Blue Book

The latest BB draft H4 been made available by Roger on the Google Drive.

The XML Service Specification can now be generated directly from the Blue Book using Word macros. Some work was spent in ensuring compatibility of the output with commonly used XML parsers. The XML has been forwarded to Cesar for further testing with the new MAL implementation.

3. Blue Book Agencies Review planning

The MPS Blue Book issue H4 (tagged with date 31 March 2023) has now been forwarded to MOIMS AD for Agencies Review.
This version of the Blue Book can be found on the GDrive: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1SX8YHsp-BPc6W37wVbAE27592AQWGmRl?usp=share_link
The SANA Registry items have been forwarded to the SANA team and will be provided in the SANA Beta Registry, Once the Blue Book is published, the SANA items will be moved into the operational SANA Registry.

4. CCSDS Spring Meeting planning

The detailed schedule of the Spring Meeting was discussed. SM&C group proposed a joint session on Automation, which was tentatively agreed for the Thursday. The following tentative schedule was compiled:
Monday morning: CCSDS and MOIMS plenaries
Monday afternoon: TBD

Tuesday:
- Attendance to SM&C MAL discussion (morning, possibly afternoon) - limited to a few (PvdP, ...), as Roger cannot attend
- MP&S topics TBD

Possible topics for Monday or Tuesday:
- Evolution of the MPS standard after publication (e.g. Configuration data)
- Internal feedback on Blue Book (if any)

Wednesday:
- Prototyping and Yellow Book (including detailed test cases and data tables)
- Additional validation of the Information Model (XML Schemas)
- Validation with additional missions (NASA?)

Thursday:
- Automation - jointly with SM&C

Friday:
- Reporting to MOIMS
- Next steps, planning, AOB
- MOIMS plenary (afternoon)

Peter will check participation (either in person or remotely) and finalize the schedule accordingly. Any additional topics could still be raised.

5. Automation

The Automation topic was discussed. Although this is part of the SM&C charter, as that group is quite busy on other books, and because technically the topic is closely related to Mission Planning, the execution of this activity may be delegated to the MP&S group.

Roger presented his view on Automation. Also CNES presented a few ideas. In preparation of the Huntsville meeting, all agencies are kindly requested to prepare a presentation with their view on Automation (how Automation is used, what are the interfaces, etc.).

The presentations on automation can be found on the GDrive: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1NAfb9fjOln-Yy3C1L6a4iJXkF41weZT8?usp=share_link

6. AOB

The next MP&S WG meeting is planned for Wednesday 4 May 2023, 17:00 - 18:00 CET. The next prototyping meeting will be just before, i.e. at 16:00.

Best regards,

Peter
