[CESG] Resolution SEA-R-2024-01-001: Request to amend security sections of CCSDS Yellow Books, CCSDS A20x0y4c1 and A02x1y4c2

Dear CCSDS Secretariat,

Resolution SEA-R-2024-01-001: Request to amend security sections of CCSDS Yellow Books, CCSDS A20x0y4c1 and A02x1y4c2

The Systems Engineering Area,

CONSIDERING that the SEA Security WG has requested that relevant security topics should be addressed in ALL CCSDS publications,
And that the WG has asked that the attached Security considerations section be adopted,
And that the WG has provided examples of what revised GB might look like,
And that the SEA AD has reviewed the documents (attached) and concurs with the WG request.

And RECOGNIZING that responsibility for requesting review and publication of a document is an AD responsibility, as defined in A02.1-Y-4, Sec 6.2.2.2.2-b-2, and that
The affected Yellow Books are under CESG and CMC cognizance.

And RECOGNIZING that three changes are needed to existing Yellow Books:

  *   Changes to CCSDS A02x1y4c2, sec B.1.5 adding coverage of security in Green Books too; and
  *   Changes to CCSDS A20x0y4c1, subsection 3.5.2.2.2.1.1 extending document types covered to include Green Books; and
  *   Including the new draft Security section in the SANA Considerations Annex in CCSDS A02x1y4c2.

RESOLVES to request Secretariat to process the documents and submit them for CESG review and CMC approval to publish, and
That the CESG be asked to review the attached text, with examples of what compliant GBs might look like.

REQUESTS that the CESG poll be conducted to initiate this process.
