Natalya and Lee,

Lee, We don’t need deep tech editing for “Common Data Entities (CDE) “ book at this time.

Please have scan through the following books and let us know if there is anything that is glaringly wrong and requires editing.
We would like to push them through the CESG polls as soon as possible. I think we can treat them a group and send for polling together.

  1. CCSDS 902.12 Common Data Entities (CDE) – publication polling
  2. CCSDS 902.9 Service Management Utilization Request Formats (SMURF) – publication polling
  3. CCSDS 902.4 Service Package Data Formats (SPDF) – publication polling
  4. CCSDS 902.11 Best Practices – agency review polling
  5. 902.11 (Best Practices)

I would think that the Tech Editor team can scan through the document to see if there is any concern. If there is none, then Erik’s request (as an AD) is sufficient for Brian to proceed with the CESG poll.

Hi,

  * are in sufficiently good shape that they can proceed to at least CESG polling without any need for further editing

If so, then we should CESG poll. We can catch up with our tech editing queue.

Who decides? My vote is tp go ahead with the poll!

Hi Tim,

I sent emails to Brian, Natalya, Lee, cc to Simon on this. (Adding Brian for cognizance on this email) To summarize the ordering:

  1. CCSDS 902.12 Common Data Entities (CDE) – publication polling
  2. CCSDS 902.9 Service Management Utilization Request Formats (SMURF) – publication polling
  3. CCSDS 902.4 Service Package Data Formats (SPDF) – publication polling
  4. CCSDS 902.11 Best Practices – agency review polling

In my emails I also indicated that all of these books, in my opinion, are in sufficiently good shape that they can proceed to at least CESG polling without any need for further editing. I believe 902.11 (Best Practices) can also proceed to CMC polling for agency review.

In the original queue, there is also CCSDS 902.2 Communications Planning Information Format (CPIF) for publication as a technical corrigendum. Given the relative priorities of the CSSM WG this can be added as number 5 on the list above. But I will note that it will likely help support DTN Network Management.

Hi Erik,
A question from the Technical Editor working group. Among the 4 CSS-SM books, what is your preferred order of priority so that the editor team can plan accordingly?
Thanks.
