Hi Stefano again,

Please take a look at the update I made to Section 2.2.15 in the attached word document.
I believe it addresses your concern about how to set the Demand/Query flag as well as the Query Response flag, when a partnered node is simply passing the LEC directive to the other node using it as a type of status reporting between radios… or when one node demands the report from the partnered node i.e., a “demand” reporting.

If you are OK with this formulation, then I will ask the Secretariat to update the draft 235.0-W book accordingly.

thanks much,
Greg

Below is the snipet:

E2.2.15     LEC Report/Demand
Bit 23 of the LINK ESTABLISHMENT & CONTROL (LEC) directive tells how the LEC directive is used as a voluntary or demanded reporting mechanism. By setting this value to ‘0’, the values in the LEC directive are reported to the partnered radio. In this case, both E2.2.5 Demand/Query Flag and E2.2.6 Query Response Flag are ignored. Conversely, by setting this value to ‘1’, a demand for these values is made to the partnered radio. In this case, E2.2.5 Demand/Query Flag is set to ‘0’ (Demand) and E2.2.6 Query Response flag is ignored.

  1.  ‘0’ = Report LEC Values Only;

  1.  ‘1’ = Demand LEC Values.
