From greg.j.kazz at jpl.nasa.gov Tue Jun 25 19:48:49 2024 From: greg.j.kazz at jpl.nasa.gov (Kazz, Greg (US 312B)) Date: Tue, 25 Jun 2024 19:48:49 +0000 Subject: [Sls-slp] Findings regarding SLP TC & AOS GBs Message-ID: Hola Ignacio and SLP WG, Just a note to you that a subset of the SLP WG meet today to discuss the action item below: Item 1) Telecommand GB (CCSDS 200.0-G-6) Save unique portions of this book that don?t already exist in the TC Sync & CC GB (for coding, synchronization, etc) and potentially other SLP WG documents (SDLS GBs for security etc). Our ultimate goal is to be able to make the Telecommand GB a silver document. 1a ? Ken Andrews ? Review Annex B & Annex D 1b ? Brent Andres ? Review Annex C (Security) 1c ? Matt Cosby ? Compare the Telecommand GB with the Space Data Link Protocols GB (130.2-G-3) Item 2) AOS GB ? 700.0-G-3 (1992) - Greg Kazz to review The result of the meeting was the following: 1. The Telecommand GB is totally outdated and will need to be re-written based upon the current TC SDLP Blue book. (See UKSA attached presentation). This task is necessary however of low priority given the other tasks in the SLP WG queue. * There is Coding & Synchronization information within this TC GB and this info is believed to already be incorporated into the 230.1 TC Sync and CC GB. We want to ensure that we are not going to discard any useful info during the revision. * It?s been noted that this TC GB also contains a section on the Physical Layer of TC. This information does NOT reside elsewhere in CCSDS. In fact, RF&MOD doesn?t have an associated Green Book for this material unlike C&S WG. SLP will inform RF&MOD WG and discuss the possibility of them creating a GB within their WG for it. * Security discussions within TC GB are all covered in the SDLS GB. Nothing would be lost from a security topic point of view if Annex C was deleted from the TC GB, 2. The AOS GB is also totally outdated as well and requires a re-write as well in order to match the AOS SDLP Blue book. (See NASA Word file attached.) Again, this task is necessary but also low priority. These attachments will be placed in the Fall 2024 SLP CWE directory.
