Hi Marco,
This is the reason I would like to present the findings of our internal analysis. I am speaking with the team tomorrow and will have an idea when they can present the data to this working group. Hopefully within 2 weeks.
Cheers, Matt.

Subject: Re: [Sls-slp] Extending AOS Version 2 SCID by two bits - Pink Sheets
Hi all,
In my opinion, unless I'm missing something big, the situation with the Version 2 SCIDs does not look as bad as SANA said.
>From the SANA registry, I extracted the Address Space Report for Version 2, Protocol AOS (updated daily), here attached for your convenience.
The situation for the X-band (by far the most critical) is the following:
Count of Scid
Row Labels
X-Band
X-Band Deep Space
X-Band Near Earth
Assigned
80
23
151
Provisional
1
Returned
14
4
16
TBC
Grand Total
95
27
167
Having 256 possible SCID for each sub-band, it seems that we are far from being in the middle of a crisis.
Am I wrong? If yes, where's the catch?
I understand that for the long term, a change in AOS blue book may become necessary, but for the time being and the short term, if the numbers above are confirmed, I would rather stick to the current version.
Meanwhile, we may encourage to adopt USLP and perhaps start cashing the interests from the considerable investment the SLP WG made in developing the book.
Best regards
Marco

Subject: [Sls-slp] Extending AOS Version 2 SCID by two bits - Pink Sheets
Dear Ignacio and SLP WG,
Attached are the pink sheets to extend the AOS Version 2 Spacecraft ID (SCID) from the current 8 to 10 bits.
This extension is critical, since SANA has informed us all that there are no more Version 2 SCIDs available for assignment for new missions.
Recall that the SLP WG conducted a telecon on this subject a few months ago. The result of that telecon was to see if there was some hope to recycle some of the existing V2 SCIDs if analysis could demonstrate that possibility. Since then, both NASA and UKSA came to the same conclusion that there are too many collisions to share those SCIDs. Therefore, the conclusion the SLP WG agreed to several months ago was to proceed with the SCID extension via pink sheets.
The secretariat has responded very timely and produced the attached pink sheets based upon the SLP WG input. All the other pending changes to the AOS SDLP (732.0) have already been captured before (e.g., FHEC field). So we haven't lost any updated information in the document. However, the secretariat has informed me that the SLP WG and Ignacio will need to agree to move these pink sheets forward before the end of this week so that this SCID extension change can be included in the Agency Review that will be requested as a consequence of our Fall 2024 CCSDS meeting in London.
Therefore, I am asking both Ignacio and the SLP WG to review the attached pink sheets and to let me and the CCSDS Secretariat know if you find any issues with them. If none are received, then we should go forward in putting these pink sheets into the Agency Review package for this AOS Space Data Link Protocol.
Best regards,
Greg
SLP WG Chair
