However, it was intended to be there and will be added. See proposal below. This emergency command format could be assigned to MAP ID 0 and/or VCID 0 (up for discussion). Greg Currently hardware commands are 64 bits in length, use BCH encoding in triple error detection mode. If we were to offer a service that is uncoded using a 16 bit CRC, a fixed length of 64 bits they could accommodate a 16 bit command space.. Note: I am not proposing this alternative because I think that emergency commands should be LDPC encoded. But if we adopt the same fixed length rule for VC0 then even for a 64 bit code block, by dropping the length and CRC, you get a 32 bit command space. In fact, all VC 0 needs is the first 32 bits of the USLP transfer frame header below leaving 32 bits for command space. We also feel that the TFDZ does not need a header thus the total TFDZ would contain the hardware command. Here is what we got in the standard frame. Kind regards, Margherita ------------------------------------------- A joint meeting has been held with SLS’s WGs SLP and DLS. The objective was to assess the impact of recently introduced SLS Security features (i.e. new Space Data Link Security Protocol + updated TM/TC/AOS protocols) on the SLE books under Agency Review. The outcome was that new versions of those Recommendations will be referenced in the SLE books as appropriate. Also, in SLE FSP book, which is the only SLE service impacted by Security, a remark will be added, to state that security features are currently not supported by FSP Service. Another objective of the joint meeting was to assess the requirements on management parameters to support the Security Protocol. In other words, shall the Functional Resources model factor security configuration needs by a dedicated FR and dedicated parameters? An assessment was presented by CSTS : parameters for configuring the encryption algorithm and for authentication algorithm may be needed by FSP. However, FSP, will only be operated intra-Agency ( i.e. no cross-support). SLS-DLS will assess the proposal from CSTS and will provide some feedback. Future impact of USLP on SLE Services. Here an analysis based on the current White Book has been provided by CSTS WG and the remarks will be taken into account by SLP WG in in the on-going work for updating the USLP White Book. Requirements for management information were not yet addressed. -------------------------------------------------------------- Margherita di Giulio Ground Station Back-end Section (HSO-GIB) European Space Agency ESA/ESOC Robert-Bosch-Str. 5 D-64293 Darmstadt - Germany Tel: +49-6151-902779 e-mail: Margherita.di.Giulio at esa.int From: Gian Paolo Calzolari/esoc/ESA To: Margherita di Giulio/esoc/ESA at ESA Cc: "Gilles Moury" >, "Erik Barkley" >, Nestor Peccia/esoc/ESA at ESA Date: 13/11/2015 09:06 Subject: Reporting for Joint Meeting SLP-SDLS-CSTS WGs + C&S-CSTS WGs ________________________________ Margherita, at Darmstadtium there were two joint sessions with your CSTS WG. One with SLP & SDLS WGs and another one with C&S for 3 topics. Here below the topics with my recollection of results (with comments welcome). 1) Impact of recently added coding schemes (i.e. LDPC, SCCC, DVB-S2) on SLE books under Agency review, with the result that RAF will consider this new schemes with respect to erred frames, etc. 2) Impact of recently added SLS Security features (i.e. new Space Data Link Security Protocol + updated TM/TC/AOS protocols) on SLE books under Agency review, with the result that new versions will be referenced in SLE books as appropriate and FSP book will remark that security features are currently not supported by FSP Service. 3) Future impact of USLP on SLE Services. Here an analysis based on the current White Book has been provided by CSTS WG and the remarks will be taken into account by SLP WG in in the ongoing work for updating the USLP White Book. IMO, topics 1 & 2 should be part of CSS Area Report while topic 3 should be reported in the SLS Area Report. If agreed, I will amend the SLS Report accordingly.
