Dear SLP WG member,

With the help of John Pietras (Thanks again, John !!!), there are 4 new technical corrigendums to discuss at the upcoming SLP WG meeting at San Antonio affecting mainly the AOS SDLP and one concerning the SPP.

I've confirmed the changes are needed and captured them to a file with the words, Corrigendum 2013 San Antonio to this directory in CWE:

http://tinyurl.com/k2p9x7p

The changes are for the most part small but important that they be made to not confuse the reader/user. They are duplicated below:

1. In the Space Packet Protocol Blue Book, CCSDS 133.0-B-1, Sept. 2003, there is an unnumbered requirement under requirement 4.1.2.4.3.4, “Idle Packets shall not be required to increment the Packet Sequence Count.” Since this is a requirement it should have its own requirement number.
2. In the AOS SDLP Blue Book, CCSDS 732.0-B-2, July 2006 in Note 4 under 4.1.4.2.4.4, the reference for the Idle Packet specification should be “[6]”, not “[4]”.
3. In the AOS SDLP Blue Book, 4.2.2.5, the reference for the Idle Packet specification should be “[6]”, not “[3]”
4. In the AOS SDLP Blue Book, 4.2.2.5 states “The Packet Processing Function may generate ‘idle’ data in the absence of sufficient Packets supplied from the users at release time. The mechanism for generating idle data shall be to create an Idle Packet of appropriate length defined by reference …”. Given that there are numerous Notes throughout the Blue Book to the effect that “Idle Data must not be confused with Idle Packets”, the phrasing of this requirement just supports such confusion. I suggest that the requirement be rephrased to read “In the absence of sufficient Packets supplied from the users at release time, the Packet Processing Function may generate an Idle Packet (defined by reference [6]) of appropriate length to fill the remainder of the M-PDU Packet Zone”.

Best regards,
