Dear SLP,

Because of the soon to be published Space Data Link Protocol (SDLS), I think we need to add a brief paragraph to 130.0-G-2 to alert the user of the existence and optional applicability of SDLS along with adding a reference to SDLS in the reference section.

Therefore I am making a WG call for review of Overview of Space Communications Protocols 130.0-G-2 Green Book. Issue 2. December 2007, and I would appreciate your comments and or changes. This topic will become one of our agenda items for the Spring 2013 meeting in Bordeaux.

Perhaps something on the order of the following is what I recommend:

Optional Space Data Link Security Protocol

The Data Link Protocol Sublayer includes the Space Data Link Security (SDLS) Protocol specified in [X]. The SDLS protocol can provide security, such as authentication and confidentiality, for TM Transfer Frames, AOS Transfer Frames, and TC Transfer Frames. Support for the SDLS protocol is an optional feature of the TM, AOS, and TC Space Data Link Protocols.

Best regards,

Greg
