Subject: [Sls-slp] Agency Review of Space Link Identifiers Pink Sheets

Dear SLS-SLP and SIS-IPO WGs,

The pink sheets to the Space Link Identifiers Blue book is now on www.ccsds.org for agency review.
The change concerns the addition of Annex A for the transfer of IP data (mainly compressed IP headers) as well as the removal of the IPv4 and IPv6 Protocol IDs and the addition of the IPE (Internet Protocol Extension PID. Please let me know if you have any concerns about these changes in the pink sheets.

The following draft CCSDS Recommended Standard has been placed on line and is available for NASA Center review:

     CCSDS 135.0-P-3.1.  Space Link Identifiers.
                         Pink Sheets.  December 2008.

DOCUMENT DESCRIPTION:  The CCSDS Recommended Standard for Space Link Identifiers documents the identifiers that are defined or reserved by CCSDS as part of the specification of the CCSDS space link protocols, and it shows how these identifiers are managed at the CCSDS level.  The current draft update adds a specification for CCSDS IP Extension.

The due date for receipt of NASA Center review comments by the NASA Review Coordinator is 2009-1-21.  More information is available at the Web site identified below.

The review document, in Portable Document Format (PDF), and associated review materials are available for downloading at the following location:

     http://public.ccsds.org/review/

HTML RID forms available for NASA Center reviewers automatically forward review comments to the respective Center Coordinator.

NOTE: Per CMC Action Item CMC-A-2007-10-05, agency reviewers are reminded to review for compliance with the CCSDS Publications Manual as well as technical content.

Dear SLS-SLPers,

Please send me your comments on the proposal from ESA to modify the following 3 Blue books for TC retransmission.
I would like comments back to me by Dec. 19, 2008. This is asked for before these pink sheets go out for formal agency review, so if we find problems now, they can be fixed before the formal RID process begins!

Greg,

Here is a zip file with the current draft changes to the three Blue
Books for the TC Retransmissions.  The zip file also has a pdf file
giving an overview of the changes.  Two of the Blue Books (232.0-B-1 and
232.1-B-1) come under SLS-SLP and the other one (231.0-B-1) comes under
SLS-CC.

Gian Paolo and I had a meeting about the changes yesterday (9th
December) and also discussed a proposed schedule:

- current draft changes circulated to SLS-CC and SLS-SLP groups now,
with request for comments by mid-February 2009;

- formal Pink Sheets prepared following the comments;

- Agency Review of the Pink Sheets;

- RIDs from the Agency Review to be discussed at the CCSDS Spring 2009
Meeting.  And because 231.0-B-1 is under a 5-year review, there may be
additional RIDs to be considered for that Blue Book.
