[Sls-sea-dls] Response to AI SDLS 1022/01-04

Dear SDLS WG member,

Please find attached the updated SDLS Green Book - Issue 2, taking into account the response to the comments formulated by SEA AD (see attached mail) and the action items from our last meeting (01/04)(see attached MoM). The only comment not taken into account (general comment #5) is the one related to the application of SDLS to Inter-Satellite Links or space-to-space links, scenarios which we do not tackle in the present edition of the SDLS GB. How should we document, in the SDLS GB, the space-to-space scenarios ? I propose we discuss and come up with a text during the meeting. In the SDLS EP GB, we simply mention that SDLS can be used for space-to-space links but in a master-slave configuration (Initiator-Recipient). The text is the following :

" SDLS Extended Procedures are designed to operate in a master-slave configuration.  For nominal ground-to-space and space-to-ground links, the master is the mission operations center.  It is also possible to use the Extended Procedures for managing space-to-space links.  In all cases, there is no negotiation between endpoints:  all directives are issued from a predetermined master (referred to as Initiator in [2]) toward a predetermined slave (referred to as Recipient in [2])."
Shall we stay as brief or elaborate more on the limitations of SDLS when used for ISL ?
